SHAPE Travel Group Trips

Travel Group members are available to answer questions, provide information
and take reservations every Wednesday and Friday from 1100 to 1300 hours
in the SHAPE Club TV Room.
Reservations can only be made in person at above times.
SHAPE Travel Group is a non-profit activity run entirely by international
volunteers for SHAPE and NATO ID cardholders and their guests.

| Gouda and Kinderdijk | 28 August | Price: €20 |
Discover the pretty, historical town of Gouda - its ring of quiet canals encircling ancient buildings, monuments, traditional cheese warehouses, and Holland’s largest Farmer’s Market. Have a leisurely lunch at one of the many cafes. In the afternoon, we’ll head for the village of Kinderdijk, a UNESCO world heritage site. The park’s 17th century windmills are an amazing sight. Complete your day by taking the optional 30 minute boat cruise along the canal to admire the beauty of the windmills.

Known as the Venice of the North, Bruges is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. The entire historical city centre is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Walking the maze of cobbled alleys and romantic canals, you can imagine yourself to be in medieval times. The many museums give a striking image of this city’s stirring history. We are offering an optional tour of the town’s museum. There will be plenty of time to have lunch and explore on your own.

Come with us to the lively capital of French Flanders. We’re offering an optional tour of the beautiful old town with its beautifully preserved 17th and 18th century buildings and monuments. Lille is also home of the Palais des Beaux Arts - the second largest art gallery in France (after the Louvre). On the way home we will be stopping at the Auchan hypermarket in Villeneuve d’Ascq.

Leeds Castle, on the River Len in the heart of Kent, has been home to royalty for over a 1,000 years. For a few days in October, this beautiful castle is the backdrop for a glorious autumn festival of floral artistry. Flowers, fruit and other produce are used in imaginative displays throughout the rooms of Leeds Castle. Come with us and indulge your senses!
