WHEN YOU SUBMIT AN ARTICLE
TO SHAPE COMMUNITY LIFE
Guidelines:
Anything that may be of interest to the SHAPE community.
Generally,
copy should not exceed 250 words (one type-written page). Promote your
activities, report on events after-the-fact, or simply write about what
interests you. Please include photographs where possible. We also
accept photographs on their own merit.
Submission:
Articles should be typed, not hand written - originals please, no
photocopies. We also accept articles on electronic media or via e-mail.
Text:
Keep your text as clean as possible. Avoid bold, all capitals,
underlines, and unusual characters. Only tables may be shown in
columns. Tables should be typed line by line with only one
tabulation between each column.
Logos and graphical material:
submit on electronic media, send via e-mail (300 DPI resolution, no
less please), or on a separate sheet of paper - originals please, no
photocopies.
Disks: we accept 3 1/2”
diskettes, ZIP, JAZ and CD - always include a hardcopy. We accept
Macintosh and Windows formatted media.
Photographs:
submit on electronic media or send via e-mail. We work in 300 DPI
resolution at minimum, please do not submit lower resolutions, e.g. 72
DPI. We also accept negatives, slides or prints - colour or black and
white.
Flyers and posters:
must all be submitted with a copy of the completed flyer/poster as you
would like it to appear. However, we cannot guarantee that the poster
will appear exactly as on your design.
Material on electronic media or
e-mail:
Text should be in MS WORD or as plain text (a .TXT file). Pictures and
logos should be in .TIFF, .EPS or .JPEG format of at least 300 DPI; no
72 DPI images please.
If you wish your material to be returned, please enclose
a self-addressed envelope.
All
submissions are subject to editing for clarity and length. The editor's
decision in all editorial matters is final. No correspondence will be
entered into.
