Earth Day is celebrated on 22 April and schools, all around the world get involved with a project called Earth Day Groceries Project, which promotes environmental awareness by children decorating paper grocery bags with Earth Day messages and art. Brownie Troop 15 earned their Brownie Challenge Award, 'Making the World a Better Place through Courage, Confidence and Character', by participating in this year’s Earth Day Groceries Project.
We
picked this community service project because it is something that affects
the whole world and every one in it. By getting their teachers, classmates
and friends involved, the girls have helped spread the conscious effort
it takes for everyone to remember that it is up to us to help the environment.
Brownie Troop 15 passed out their classmates Earth Day art bags at Chievres
commissary on Sunday, 20 April, to over 120 customers.
We would like to thank all the teachers, friends and classmates who were so supportive and excited about this wonderful Earth Day project. Thank you to all our girls of Brownie Troop 15: You all exhibited the Girl Scout spirit through your courage, confidence and character during this great and rewarding project. It has been a wonderful experience and we think you all do a fantastic job. Thank you all.
