“Education is learning what you didn't even know you didn't know”.
~Daniel J. Boorstin
A commencement speech is a speech given at the graduation ceremony during which degrees or diplomas are conferred upon graduating students. A commencement speech is typically given by a notable figure in the community. Very commonly, colleges or universities will invite politicians, important citizens, or other noted speakers to come and address the graduating class.
The Criminal Justice programme covers a wide range of core courses designed to give the student a foundation in the American Criminal Justice System. Courses range from 'hands on' courses, such as Basic Firearms, to Legal Aspects of Law Enforcement and Ethics in Criminal Justice. There are also a number of elective courses which allow the student to tailor the degree plan to their own specific needs. To learn more about this degree programme, visit the CTC representative in USAG Benelux Education Centre on SHAPE, Bldg. 212, Room 112, for more information, or call DSN 423-7447 or 065/44.74.47.
A Field Study course packs all of the 48 contact hours of a traditional
college course into eight adventure filled days, so you get three semester
hours of credit in about a week. In addition, rather than taking place in
an education centre, a Field Study course takes place in an historical European
city where the subject being studied has its roots. You will visit historical
sites and museums, as well as participate in lectures that bring it all
together for a one-of-a-kind learning experience. Visit your UMUC representatives
in USAG Benelux Education Centre on SHAPE, Bldg. 212, Room 119 for more
information or call 423-5173, 065/44.51.73.
