“Thank You”

From the SHAPE Greeting Cards Group

v26d V26i v26h

v26a“On behalf of the SHAPE Greeting Cards Group I would like to forward to every one of you our sincere thanks for the fantastic support we have received in our efforts to raise funds for both SAM (Share-a-Meal) and Noah’s Arc Animal Shelter”, says Mrs Anne Blokdal-Pedersen, who also designed this year´s greetings cards.

“It is with great pleasure I can tell you all, that the result was quite impressive”, Mrs Anne Blokdal-Pedersen continues. “Your support resulted in more than 2,200 cards being bought. Even former Shapians, now living in Germany, contacted us to have some cards as a nice memory of their stay here at SHAPE. Furthermore, a lot of Shapians made donations to both SAM and Noah´s Arc, be it money or other things, such as blankets and food for the animals.

v26fWe in the Greeting Cards Group are, therefore, very pleased to announce that the sale of the cards brought in more than e1,100 for SAM and Noah’s Arc. After a tragic fire at the animal shelter where some dogs lost their lives, and food and supplies were destroyed, we also received more than e800 in donations and more than 200 kilos of animal food.

These very positive results would not have been achieved if you, a number of extremely dedicated group members, and many other Shapians had not taken a very active role in a lot of different ways”, Mrs Anne Blokdal-Pedersen explains.

“In this context, in particular, I would like to express a sincere “Thank You” to a number of people who have been particularly helpful in our endeavour to bring joy and happiness to both people and animals during the Christmas and New Year period:

V26cMiss Fabienne Leclercq at the SHAPE Community Life Magazine for helping me with the creation of the greetings card, Mrs Ulla Riis at the Danish NMR Office for helping out with making flyers, Mrs Henriette De Lair, Tanja and JJ at the SHAPE Flower Shop, the SHAPE Bookstore staff. Katalin and Nick Kovac for donating both food and leather merchandise to be sold, Headquarters Support Group Morale and Welfare Branch for helping out with a lot of practical issues, and AFN for their great support in bringing information of this activity to a very broad audience.

This fantastic support for both SAM and Noah´s Arc has inspired The Greeting Cards Group to engage in creating a new association here at SHAPE, named SHAPE ANIMAL FRIENDS ASSOCIATION. More information will be provided to you on this issue.V26bHopefully, it will be of great support to the animals, but it is also appreciation and a helping hand to all the volunteers that are working at the animal shelter, for giving the animals love and care”, Mrs Anne Blokdal-Pedersen says.

“Finally, I urge every one having an animal while stationed here at SHAPE not to leave it behind, when you leave. Take the animal with you, but if that is not possible make sure you find a caring and loving home for it. This can be done by contacting Noah’s Arc animal shelter. They will then try to find a family to adopt your animal.”

“Again, thanks to all of you for your support and the best wishes for a fantastic and caring 2008.”
