MUSEUM NIGHT FEVERMNFLogo

01 March 2008

1900 hrs to 0300 hrs

It’s gratifying to know that Brussels has more than 90 museums filled with collections of artifacts covering numerous diverse themes. However, in order to satisfy the modern museum goers, who have become more demanding and are no longer content with the traditional walk-through of these collections, the museums are adapting themselves, and coming up with innovative schemes to encourage more people to take an interest. Some have created, for the first time, a ‘night of discovery’ in which you’ll see the museums in a whole new light!

On Saturday, 1 March, from 1900 to 0100 hours in the morning, seven of these museums will be open to the public for an amazing showcase given by young and talented artists from different schools of arts and student associations. The programme includes performances, concerts, dance, DJs, films, different workshops and extraordinary animations. To give you an idea, there will be a catwalk show featuring piggy banks at the Museum of the National Bank of Belgium, body painting at the Centre of Fine Arts (BOZAR), rock concerts at the Museum of Musical Instruments and Japanese animated film Interstella 5555 at the Belgian Centre for Comic Strip Art... For those who still have some energy left, you can dance the night away at the after-party at BOZAR until 0300 hrs in the morning.

This museums participating in this first “Museums by Night” are as follows:
- Coudenberg Archaeological Site
- Belvue Museum Museum of the City of Brussels
- Museum of Musical Instruments
- Centre of Fine Arts (BOZAR)
- Museum of the National Bank of Brussels
- Belgium Centre for Comic Strip Art

It is recommended that you book certain activities at the reception desk at BOZAR as of 1900 hrs since the number of participants is limited. Last entries are at 0300 hrs and closure of the museums and the exhibition rooms is at 0100 hrs. The After-hours party at BOZAR is from midnight until 0300 hrs in the morning. Access to Museum Night Fever is with pass only! Admissions are limited for security reasons.

Museum Night Fever passes (include the after-party): on sale from 1 February in FNAC (Media store) and the participating museums:

For this one night only (1 March), the Museum Night Fever pass also gives access to the complete Brussels public transport network of the STIB/MIVB (metro, bus, tram) including Noctis buses (until 0300).
