CAPTAIN’S ADDRESS

SGA LADIES CHRISTMAS FUNCTION
Friday, 7 December saw the SGA Ladies Christmas Party held at the Royal Golf Club of Hainaut. The event was well attended with all enjoying a superb meal and celebrating a toast or two for the very successful happenings of 2007.
Throughout the year no less than 7 ladies passed their Brevet (the mandated requirements to allow golfers to play at some Golf Clubs in Belgium), which has boosted the numbers dramatically on the SGA Ladies Monday morning roll-ups. The increases to this section of the Association have culminated in the introduction of a ladies monthly competition, which is proving a great success.
Special thanks were expressed by all to Trish Mountjoy, the retiring Ladies Captain, for her help, support and unselfish commitment to all of the SGA Ladies. Trish was presented with prints of the course, including a photograph of the 8th hole on the Quesnoy Course, where she had scored a hole-in-one earlier n the year.
ECLECTICS
What is an Eclectic?
Eclectic is a competition where you play a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 10 rounds of strokeplay golf and count your best gross score at each of the 18 holes. Your best score at a hole can be obtained in any of the 10 rounds, e.g. at hole 1 you may score 4, 4, 6, 3, 7, 4, 9, 3, 4 and 6 in the 10 rounds, your eclectic score at hole 1 would therefore be a 3. The same applies at the other 17 holes.
Your Eclectic Total will be the total of the best score at all 18 holes LESS 10% of your exact handicap on 1 January 2008.This competiotion ends on 31 March.
Should you require any further details then do not hesitate to contact the SGA Tournament Directors, Sean Nevin (4122) or Phil Harries (8053).
