Start the New Year with Class!
Registration for college classes offered on SHAPE and Chièvres Air Base is ongoing and there are many classes to choose from in Term III.
University of Maryland University College (UMUC) offers many first-year college classes including Introduction to Computer-Based Systems, College Mathematics, Introductory Algebra, General Microbiology, African-American History (this class will be held on Chièvres Air Base), Introduction to Contemporary Social Problems (a new “hybrid” class combining classroom and online instruction - perfect for very busy people!); and Business Writing, an advanced writing course.

International students may have to take Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) before signing up for classes. US Soldiers enroll online at the GoArmyEd.com portal. Military spouses should check with college registrars about availability of financial aid.

International Relations and Human Relations offered at the graduate level on SHAPE!
Pursue a Master's degree in International Relations or Human Relations with the University of Oklahoma. Begin your studies with February's class "Cross-Cultural Communication: Theory and Research," February 19 - 24. The focus of the course will be worldview, philosophical diversity, and communication behaviors; value analysis and intercultural studies; social change strategies and tactics; cross-cultural communication in applied settings; and methodological problems in cross-cultural studies.
